Mentored Clinics – Residents focus on episodic care seeing patients under the supervision of a mentor CNM who is available for consultation. Residents enter practice seeing patients on a mentor schedule and advance to their own schedule of patients.

Centering Pregnancy – Residents have their own patient panel in the group care model while having a preceptor exclusively assigned to co-facilitate groups.

Inpatient Care – Shared in-patient call shifts with mentor CNM. Inpatient care includes OB triage, intrapartum care in labor and delivery and the birth center, in patient rounding and discharge, and newborn care.

Specialty Rotations – Focused rotations in high-risk, high-volume, and high-burden areas most commonly encountered in FQHC settings. Examples include behavioral health, medication assisted treatment (MAT), sports medicine, primary care, newborn nursery, lactation medicine.

Weekly Midwifery Case Reviews – Formal chart reviews occur weekly with the midwifery team.

Quality Improvement Projects– Through mentorship, residents develop knowledge and skills to improve care utilizing quality improvement tools and methods.
