Carson McKelvey

My name is Carson McKelvey, and I am one of the current PGY-1 pharmacy residents at El Rio Health! I am from Prescott, AZ, and received my PharmD at the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy. I’m grateful to have been matched with El Rio, and I’m confident that this experience will prepare me to embark on my career as an ambulatory care pharmacist. El Rio’s mission aligns perfectly with my passion for serving and providing care for underserved populations. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, or shopping for antiques! 

 

Ysabel Padilla

My name is Ysabel Padilla and I am one of the PGY-1 pharmacy residents here at El Rio Health. I am from Tucson, Arizona and completed my pharmacy degree at the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona. Completing residency training at El Rio Health provides me opportunities to explore my professional interests of chronic disease state management, HIV care, and behavioral health. I am thankful to be a part of a team that provides high quality healthcare to the Tucson community. I look forward to the experiences and professional growth I will gain this next year. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our dog, going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

 

Cammy Yu

My name is Cammy Yu, I am one of the PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident at El Rio Health. I completed my PharmD degree at the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy. I completed my pharmacy internship at El Rio Health from 2019-2023. I look forward to continuing my professional career at El Rio Health. I am proud to be a part of a program invested in caring for the vulnerable and underserved communities. My areas of interests are diabetes management, chronic disease state management and community care. Being part of El Rio Health will allow me to follow my dreams of becoming an ambulatory care pharmacist. I am so grateful for the opportunity, and I cannot wait to grow into a compassionate and proficient healthcare provider. In my free time, I enjoy supporting local businesses such as coffee shops and restaurants across Southern Arizona.

 

Xochitl Benitez

My name is Xochitl Benitez, and I am one of the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residents here at El Rio Health. I am from Las Cruces, New Mexico and completed my pharmacy degree at The University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy.  I am passionate about serving underserved communities through direct patient care and breaking communication barriers. This program has an emphasis on ambulatory care that will help me expand my knowledge and skills in managing various disease states. I plan to return to southern New Mexico to expand the pharmacy practice in ambulatory care, so I look forward to the valuable learning experiences in leadership and administration offered at El Rio Health. I am grateful to be with a program invested in the success of my career post residency. Aside from residency, I am excited to explore Tucson and Southern Arizona, trying new food, finding a tennis community, and discovering the best matcha in town!
